The Science of Barefoot Motion
Barefoot Motion applies the rules of natural science to explain why going barefoot is healthy and why shoes have been found to be the cause of so many of our injuries. Shoes alter the way our bodies want to naturally move. The human foot has evolved for more than four million years to do its job without interference from shoes, so why do we continue to wear the latest high-tech shoes that only force us further from the way nature intended?
Scientific studies have discovered that shoes are the cause of the majority of athletic injuries. As shoe companies add more high-tech features, our shoes further inhibit our natural mechanisms from working. It has been known that shoes will deform our feet, but now we are awakening to the fact that shoes have lasting effects on our overall health; hence The Barefoot Movement.
